Justin's favorite place....the beach!
This photo was taken of Justin the summer of 2002, one year before his passing at Second Beach in Newport.
This picture adorns plenty of car dashboards and books of adults and teenagers across the State of Rhode Island. It serves as a reminder of how precious life really is. His beautiful face has now become an icon for people making better decisions in their lives. Please keep this image with you as you journey through your life.
This picture is also his way of reminding us of how much he loved Summer....so as Summer approaches each and every year....know that the warm breeze that brushes across your face....the ray of hot sun that warms your soul....the rush of a wave that touches your feet...is a reminder of how he loved it here. Keep him close at times like these...know he is with you!
Please share your summer memories with us...we would love to know how he is still a part of your life...thanks for visiting.

Justin's Memorial Bench, Colt State Park, Bristol, RI

On August 19, 2005, joined by family and friends, along with special speaker, Attorney General Patrick Lynch...an unveiling of Justin's bench was made at sunset along the shore of Narragansett Bay.

The evening was hot and the weather just perfect, as our voices echoed in the grove of trees that surrounded his memorial. As I spoke to a crowd of at least 100, I could only hear the water splashing against the rocks and wimpers as tears streamed the faces of those who listened. I knew he was doing it again, Justin was touching those who loved him and those he barely knew.

Attorney General Patrick Lynch stood tall and spoke of the great things that have come from Justin giving his life. He talked about what we all need to do as we stand together time and time again to keep his story alive.

As the ceremony came to a close a light rain gently fell from the sky...it was him...he was there. The sun continued to shine as we all embraced and felt his presence...

So, when you are walking along the shores of Narragansett Bay...please take the time to find Justin's spot. It is serene and peaceful. A place we often visited as a family...it is there you will find him with peace and reflection.
